UNIVERSITY OF BELGRADE
Philological Faculty

Due to its role of coordinator of the project, the University of Belgrade (BU) is responsible for the administration of the TEMPUS grant in accordance with the plans presented in the application and the terms of the grant agreement. It is in charge of the daily management, coordination and monitoring, project web page administration and project results dissemination.

BU works with other consortium members on all four strands of the project: three-cycle structure change from 4+1+3 to 3+2+3 structure, modernization of the curricula in terms of content, teaching and assessment methods and materials, and design and implementation of two master programs in Translation and Interpreting and in Serbian as a Foreign Language.

UNIVERSITY OF NOVI SAD
Faculty of Philosophy

The Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad actively contributes to the project by participating in all four strands of the project activities: three-cycle structure change, modernization of the curricula in terms of content, teaching and assessment methods and materials and in design and implementation of two master programs: Translation and Interpreting (including minority languages) and Serbian as a Foreign Language.

UNIVERSITY OF NIŠ
Faculty of Philosophy

The role of the University of Niš in the project is complementary with the activities of other partner organizations. Experienced professors in linguistic subjects, literature and methodology are actively participating in the development of a contemporary and modular foreign language curriculum, defining teacher competencies, teaching methods and materials, establishing the learning outcomes of prospective foreign language teachers, and determining assessment and quality assurance methods.

UNIVERSITY OF KRAGUJEVAC
Faculty of Philology and Arts

Faculty of Philology and Arts is involved in all activities pertaining to the project - except the master in Serbian as a foreign language- providing assistance and expertise of its academic staff. Teachers and researches will set about redesigning existing curricula in order to align them with the CEFR, ensuring international recognition of their students’ linguistic competence. Translation techniques are widely used in the existing curricula, so the creation of the related master courses will contribute not only to variety of graduate courses offered by this institution but to the market’s demand for highly skilled language professionals as well. Faculty of Philology and Arts will also be involved in disseminating information to the wider community about the project and its results.

STATE UNIVERSITY OF NOVI PAZAR

The SUNP works on the adoption of a three-cycle system (3+2+3), the improvement of content, language teaching and assessment methods and materials in English language study program. Also it works on designing and implementing one or two new foreign language study programs chosen by the consortium members.

UNIVERSITY OF VERSAILLES SAINT QUENTIN EN YVELINES

Having developed over the last ten years a network of language centers implementing a new innovative approach to the pedagogy of foreign languages teaching / learning inside and outside the University, the Institute works as a pilot guiding Serbian Universities all the way along through the different steps of such an implementation so that they can learn how to develop similar approach and create their own network of centers.

Karl-Franzens - Universität Graz
UNIVERSITY OF GRAZ

The University of Graz contributes to the present project through the transfer of knowledge and experience, concerning both the development and administration of study programmes. Two of the representatives involved in the project from the University of Graz have gained profound knowledge in language teaching and are thus able to bring in their experience in a constructive way on an academic level. All of the representatives have worked in the area of study programme development and management and can thus also provide useful input from an administrative point of view. Furthermore, the KFU contributes to the design and implementation of T&I and Serbian as a Foreign Language master study programms.

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHAMPTON

The University of Southampton (Modern Languages) provides specialist advice on curriculum reform. In particular, it advises on planning changes to the content of courses; on developing strategies for implementing a system of language proficiency measure; and on introducing new methods and materials for learning, teaching and assessment. It advises on how Serbian language teaching can make best use of recently developed tools, such as the CEFR, the ELP, the European Profile for Language Teacher Education, the LANQUA toolkit for quality assurance, and approaches based on Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). It provides advice the needs for professional development and training. It also participates in dissemination activities.

COMENIUS UNIVERSITY IN BRATISLAVA

The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures of the Faculty of Education has long-term expertise in the initial and in-service training of foreign language teachers and translators. Their experience in preparing Slovak version of ELP and translation of the CEFR, as well as in creation of the Slovak-English-French-German glossary of terms related to CEFR makes significant contribution to the project realization. The Department has taken part in creation of the new Concept of foreign language teaching in Slovakia that has been approved by the Slovak government in 2006. The Faculty of Education emphasizes in study programs the role of information and communication technologies, including the data-driven approaches based on use of corpora and CAT tools. All these experiences and expertise are directly used in the framework of the Project.

MINISTRY OF EDUCATION
GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA

The Ministry of Education (Higher Education Department and International Cooperation Department) is most directly relevant to the reform of the foreign language studies in Serbia by providing necessary expertise in terms of Law and Accreditation standards. Both Departments have been instrumental in execution of relevant steps leading to educational reforms that are on the same line with Lisbon Convention and Bologna processes.

EUROPEAN INTEGRATION OFFICE (SEIO)
GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA

Having in mind the fact that the preparation of national version of EU law is highly dependent upon the specific knowledge and skills of all participants, as well as the ultimate requirement by the European Union to delegate more than 150 highly-qualified translators to the EU institutions following Serbia’s EU accession, there is an intrinsic need for adequate training in various fields of the required expertise. The SEIO’s role is to provide advice and guidance as regards the specific requirements of the ongoing translation project, selection of trainees and consultation with regard to the project agenda and curricula. Specifically, they will take part mainly in the education of translators, proofreaders and linguists, creation of a new profession (lawyer-linguist) and creation of new, market-oriented curriculum.

NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT SERVICE
GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA

The role of NES is to support the labour market research and processing of collected data, to support the reform of curricula by providing relevant data on the number and structure of unemployed graduate philologists, current situation and labour market forecasts. NES is dedicated to dissemination activities. NES also takes part in the monitoring and evaluation of project activities at the end of the approved project (it will monitor recruitment of unemployed philologists). It also participates in the project management, activities of teams (meetings at managerial level, Team meetings in Serbia and EU partner countries and in study visits).

ASSOCIATION OF SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL TRANSLATORS OF SERBIA

The Association contributes to the REFLESS project by its active role in counselling and helping the Serbian Universities and its partners develop and implement translation contents, methods and materials at the undergraduate levels, and a Master’s curriculum in translation and interpreting in a number of languages.

REGIONAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE NOVI SAD

Role in the project
The role of the Chamber of Commerce of Novi Sad is to determine the labor market’s needs so that the relevant data can be incorporated into the reforms of study programs making their graduates’ skills more in accordance with the labor market. It also works on discovering the companies or institutions in which students can conduct professional practice.

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY KRAGUJEVAC

Chamber of Commerce of Kragujevac carries out its activities as an intermediary between companies - service users, and educational institutions - service providers. The work is divided in three phases. In the first phase, a broad field research is conducted in order to define educational requirements of companies. In the second phase of engagement in the project, the chamber coordinates and organizes student practice in selected companies. Much of the work is devoted to coordination of communication between companies and educational institutions, in order to make foreign language curriculum definitions suitable to both sides.

Regional Chamber of Commerce of Nis is dedicated to defining educational requirements expressed by companies in order to facilitate harmonization of study programs with the needs of labour market, formulating a proposal of specialized service, organization of student practice in companies and coordination of communication between companies and Universities.
