WELCOME TO THE REFLESS PROJECT

Dear visitors,

Welcome to the web presentation of the TEMPUS project Reforming Foreign Language Studies in Serbia!

In the past decade, strenuous efforts have been undertaken by hundreds of language professionals to make changes in the way foreign languages are taught and studied in Serbia. This project is a continuation of these attempts – it builds on the success of previous advancements and tries to learn from past setbacks. The goal has always been and still is to reform foreign language studies in such a way that the study programs better comply with and more easily adjust to changes in the needs of the labour market, so that they are also harmonious at different universities nationwide. An opportunity to achieve these objectives has presented itself in the process of Serbia’s preparation to become a candidate country for EU membership – while embarking on the path of global integration with the EU, we have initiated a project that will reform foreign language studies in such a manner that it will both help us move closer to the European Higher Education Area, and also fulfill the previously stated needs for reform.

Our consortium consists of all the relevant institutions that are needed for a thorough and meaningful reform of foreign language studies, and the TEMPUS REFLESS project has already gained significant support from both national and EU high officials.
